FAQ

Q. Will any of the money spent on this project go to helping actual Pangolins?

No, but after COVID-19 it’s a little presumptuous of them to expect cash.

Q. Does this NFT count as Art?

“Paranoid Pangolins” are avatars of our collective anxieties. At a fundamental level, a conspiracy theory is the belief that the chaos of life is more organized than it appears. An algorithmically generated Paranoid Pangolin personifies this concept. They are the product of both careful planning and randomization. In other words, the making of Paranoid Pangolins is a conspiracy theory that’s true. If you want more traditional “Art” go pay $45k/year at NYU and make your own. If you’re cheap you can buy a coffee shop scribble picture for $350.

Q. Seriously, is this project for real?

What is real? How do you define 'real'? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain”.

-Morpheus “The Matrix"

Also, yes. This project is very real.

Q. Are you making fun of confused kooky people for profit?

Someone sounds awfully threatened by people questioning their narrative. If you don’t like hard questions go buy your grandma’s Fox/CNN NFT.

Q. I heard NFTs are bad for the environment, is that true?

Exchange of NFTs consumes electricity which does add to our society’s carbon footprint. To avoid this, consider purchasing a non-digital pangolin themed product. That way it will simply be transported thousands of miles by truck and dropped on your doorstep in a cardboard box. I have heard Amazon doesn’t use any computer technology to provide goods and services.

Q. Some conspiracy theories are reasonable, but don’t you hurt the cause by including irrational conspiracy theories?

Conspiracy theories become rational retroactively. Many generally accepted truths only got there with hindsight and the careful work of free thinkers willing to risk their safety and reputations. For example, the details of MKULTRA sounds like the plot of a bad Sci-Fi channel original series. Unfortunately, MKULTRA was a true conspiracy that is no longer just a theory.

Q. True conspiracy theories involve small groups of people. Some of these conspiracies involve tens of thousands working together for years. Isn’t it irrational to think that’s happening?

The Manhattan project involved thousands of people working on a potentially earth destroying experiment, and have you heard of Santa Claus? His elves work together to keep the naughty/nice list a secret for 364 days a year!

Q. This NFT sounds like all the rest of them. It’s just a cash grab // con job // pyramid scheme, etc

You’re right, the internet is a passing fad, Gamestop is going out of business, we only needed 6 more months to fix Afghanistan, a healthy diet includes 8-12 daily servings of carbohydrates, and your government only spies on bad people. But seriously, YOU sound like a lil bitch who doesn’t own anything but wishes they did.
